Yet Another Homework Assignment At first I wasn’t sure which painting to use as the subject of my paper, but after a little thought, I finally settled on Norman Rockwell’s After the Prom which he painted on May 25, 1957. Measuring at only 13.5” x 14.5”, the picture shows a teenage couple perched on soda shop stools, dressed in their evening finery.
The boy, dressed in a white dinner jacket and black trousers, looks proud of himself as his date shows off her white orchid corsage to the man behind the counter. The Ronettes, consisting of sisters Veronica and Estelle Bennett and their cousin Nedra Talley rocketed to fame in the early 60's with hits like Be My Baby and Baby I Love You. Their 1962 song Be My Baby was featured in the 1987 classic film Dirty Dancing.

In my opinion, they are also one of the greatest, if not the greatest girl group that ever existed.
Those hairdos are epic!
